Welcome to XTRMAT 2018

Innovations involving extreme conditions such as pressure, temperature, radiations, corrosive and aggressive atmosphere, are very important in the synthesis, processing and in characterization. The current Spring school “Materials Science under Extreme Conditions (Materials synthesis, Processing and Characterizations) (XTRMAT-2018) funded by European commission through the European project “SUPERMAT” is mainly dedicated to train the young researchers especially the master, Ph.D students and early stage career researchers.

XTRMAT-2018 focuses on nano/microstructured materials for extreme conditions through an interdisciplinary approach:

  • Processing and characterizations for materials in extreme conditions
  • Materials Syntheses and consolidation under high pressure
  • Exploring new domains implementing extreme conditions and their advances

Different sessions are planned for materials used in specific extreme conditions, such as involvement of High Pressure in various domains of materials chemistry, materials sciences, biosciences (food sciences, biological and pharmaceutical products, cosmetics) and geological sciences in the scope of thematic of SUPERMAT. Participants can present their research work as poster, a special session is dedicated for the same.

In the frame of the SUPERMAT project, as a continuation of training young scholars, Spring School for 2018 (XTRMAT-2018) will be held in ICMCB-CNRS, BORDEAUX (France) from April 11th to 13th, 2018. Subject experts and innovators related to the thematic of XTRMAT-2018 from all over Europe will give lectures in the spring school.

The participants are limited to 50, so please do register early.

Look forward to see you in Bordeaux,

Warm regards,

Dr. Alain LARGETEAU, HDR  - Coordinator XTRMAT 2018

(University of Bordeaux Research Engineer, ICMCB - Bordeaux)
